...But for those of you who are not familiar with the Iceland experience, here are a few facts to wet your appetite about the home of Icelandic Glacial.
- Iceland is a mid-Atlantic island of almost 40,000 square miles (similar in size to New York state) but is inhabited by a population of only 300,000 people
- 85% of Iceland is uninhabited leaving a country with vast tracts of untouched idyllic landscape
- Iceland is home to Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull, measuring 5,219 miles which is larger than all of the other glaciers in Europe combined - Some 11% of the country is covered by glacier and 30% in lava fields.
- The OECD recently stated that Icelandic women have the highest life expectancy in the world, whilst Icelandic men and women combined, share equal first with Japan. Local folklore has it that this is partly due to the quality of Iceland’s water.
