Bottling Facility
Our current state-of-the-art bottling plant is situated in Thorlakshofn at the edge of the Ölfus Spring.
Water is piped directly into the facility from the spring, via a dedicated pipeline that penetrates deeply through solid rock into the source.
All production lines are fully automated and our uniquely designed & fully recyclable bottles are blown locally to reduce handling and improve on the overall efficiency of the operation.
The filling process takes place in a clean room environment equivalent to laboratory conditions. This ensures that our water has never been exposed to outside air until the cap is removed by an appreciative consumer.
Icelandic Glacial is an NSF compliant facility where full analysis of our operations is carried out in regular audits. Icelandic Glacial are proud to have achieved a perfect 100% score from NSF in 2005 and 2006 effectively demonstrating our commitment to Total Quality Management.
The Icelandic Glacial source and our company premises are regularly inspected by the Icelandic Public Health Authority who carry out stringent tests to ensure the plant is operating in compliance with World Health Organization standards. As part of our quality assurance program we also carry out internal laboratory tests on a daily basis.
